Trumpet Gives Back

Every December the Trumpet team takes one day to get together and give back to the community. Much to our delight, this year we chose to work with the local Phoenix non-profit organization, Maggie's Place.

Maggie's Place is an organization dedicated to providing housing, food, and resources to new and expecting mothers without a place to stay. We got a tour of their first building which opened 15 years ago and houses up to 8 women. Also on that property are several apartments which serve as transitional housing for the new mothers as they search for places of their own.

Right away, we felt like part of the Maggie's Place family. We split up to help with various tasks and chores around the house – from pulling weeds to sorting donations to cleaning the living areas and washing cars.

The afternoon was when some real fun began. Trumpet took over their kitchen to make a large meal that everyone could eat that evening – Chicken Tortilla Soup. In the meantime, we invited all the mothers staying in the house to join us in making Gingerbread Houses. Everyone's creativity was really on display. It was a joy to help this wonderful organization and spend time with the mothers staying there.
